Global Warming

Perhaps it’s happening over in the US now (who am I kidding? it ain’t happening), but the British government and public have a whole lot of awareness about global warming and the environment. I’m watching the BBC morning news show, which is pretty much as useless as any morning show in the US, but they have a whole series right now where they are tracking a family month-by-month and looking at their carbon footprint. There are billboards and ads everywhere about water conservation and talk about your carbon footprint. And the UK government just increased taxes on flights which is supposed to go into environmental programs.

It’s just interesting to see how a different country is handling the environment.

Love the term “carbon footprint”. It says so much. But only hear that here when a UK report comes out. Prince Charles is even doing something about tracking the carbon footprint of the food we eat. Yikes! And Yea!

So NPR today was all about the study released by the IPCC in London this morning stating that science shows that humans are impacting the climate. Maybe that’s why are the carbon footprint stuff was on huh?

    See you soon,

I think it’s brought about a lot more news in the last few days about it, but it seems like it’s part of the news every day. For example, they have a series on a crappy morning show called Meet our low carb family (I guess Atkins didn’t hit it big here) which they started weeks ago. Plus, there are billboards and whatnot that have been around for at least 2 weeks.
